The Chapter 118 Calendar categorizes AFA activities into one of the 3 categories: Programs, Events, and Meetings. They are described below.
- PROGRAMS are activities that we hope will generate larger participation and might likely be held on a different day, at a different time, and at a different location than our normal meetings. There will be a speaker and a social time. They may include a short business meeting. We welcome suggestions for topics and speakers.
- EVENTS are activities of a special nature that we either originate or are invited to participate in and will most likely be held on a different day, at a different time, and at a different location than our normal meetings. We welcome suggestions.
- MEETINGS are Executive Board Meeting that will be held at CoCo’s at 6:30pm on the last Tuesday of the month. They will primarily be a business meeting, but we may also have a presentation on a topic of interest. We welcome suggestions. Everyone is invited to attend.
Monthly Chapter Meetings
The Chapter’s regular monthly meetings are usually on the last Tuesday of each month. We meet at Coco's Bakery Restaurant. The address of the restaurant is Coco's Restaurant, 5955 Balboa Avenue, San Diego. We begin at 1830 with a short business meeting followed by other agenda items. We order dinner off the menu.
The meetings are open to all current, former and retired Air Force members, spouses, friends, and anyone interested in Air Force activities.
We support local Air Force members assigned to the Consolidated Brig at MCAS Miramar, the 147th Combat Communications Squadron - CAANG, the Air Force Recruiting Office - San Diego, ROTC Detachment 075 at SDSU, JROTC programs at Scripps Ranch, Mira Mesa and Vista High schools, and Squadron 144 of the Civil Air Patrol.
Our primary fundraiser is the annual golf tournament that takes place in April of each year.
