CALIFORNIA AIR FORCE ASSOCIATION DESCRIPTION OF 2011 CAFA AWARDS

 

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

Member of the Year Award (1) CAFAs highest award for superior overall service to CAFA at the chapter and/or state level.

 

Golden Bear Award (1) Presented to the person who most exemplifies the AFA tradition and has been an AFA member in long standing.

 

Presidents Award (This Award has been renamed by our new CAFA President, effective January, 2011) For special contributions to CAFA performance during the current operating year. Awarded at the discretion of the CAFA President, although CAFA members and chapters are invited to suggest potential candidates for the Presidents consideration.

 

Sustained Outstanding Performance Award (10) For sustained contributions of an outstanding nature to CAFA at the chapter and/or state level. Awarded for sustained outstanding accomplishments in one or more categories of activity during the current operating year or for accumulated accomplishments over a period of several years. Typically (but not necessarily), recipients of the award have received CAFAs Exceptional Service Award in previous years.

 

Exceptional Service Award (10) For exceptional service to CAFA at the chapter and/or state level, commensurate with the performance characteristic of CAFAs most active leaders. Awarded for exceptional accomplishments in one or more categories of activity curing the current operating year or for accumulated accomplishments over a period of several years. Typically (but not necessarily), recipients of this award have received CAFAs Meritorious Service Award in previous years.

 

Meritorious Service Award (16) For important service at the chapter level that merits CAFA recognition. Awarded for accomplishments during the current operating year or for accumulated accomplishments over a period of several years.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL AWARDS CAFA CHAPTERS

Chapter of the Year Award CAFAs highest award. For overall service to the CAFA in all categories of the AFA mission: aerospace education, communications, community relations, membership (new/retained), and overall chapter programming. Awarded for accomplishments in the current operating year, or for accumulated accomplishments over several years. The nomination and selection for this award will be by made by the Awards Committee.

 

Distinguished Achievement Awards For outstanding service to the CAFA in the various categories of the AFA mission. Awarded for accomplishments in the current operating year, or for accumulated accomplishments over several years. One awarded annually in each of the following categories:

• Aerospace Education Communications Membership (New/Retained) and Community Partners Overall
• Programming

 

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION AWARDS

Special consideration awards, with appropriate titles, are authorized when incidents or circumstances occur in which an individual or organization merits recognition not included other award categories. For example, acts of bravery or heroism, humanitarian service, record-setting events, or remarkable contributions to the missions of the USAF or the AFA.
